TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards - The Game Changers

Award Categories

The TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards are split into three different types of categories: Individual Awards, Category Awards and Judges' Choice Awards.

The categories for 2011 are:

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

Marketer of the Year Award - sponsored by Pacific Micromarketing
An award to recognise exceptional individuals. The judges are looking for a marketer who has achieved outstanding results in his or her marketing career, with emphasis on the past year.

Marketing Hall of Fame - sponsored by TVNZ
For individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to New Zealand marketing. These people have distinguished themselves in marketing and/or related fields; contributed to the betterment of marketing and its reputation; individually motivated others to excel by mentoring, inspiring, training or volunteering; and completed their primary careers.

Rookie Marketer of the Year Award - sponsored by &some
Open to people who have up to two years’ experience in marketing. The judges are looking for marketers who can demonstrate great implementation and a sound understanding of strategic vision.

CATEGORY AWARDS

Business Marketing Award - sponsored by Mailshop
A relatively new category open to businesses whose products and services are directed toward other businesses.

Consumer Marketing Award - sponsored by hotfoot
Open to companies whose main focus is to provide a service or product to the consumer. Includes banks, airlines, tourism and entertainment.

Emerging Business Award - sponsored by University of Otago School of Business
Open to New Zealand companies who have operated for less than five years. The judges will look for originality in the marketing approach and will acknowledge innovation, growth and profitability.

Export Marketing Award - sponsored by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise
Open to New Zealand businesses who export products or services from New Zealand to other countries.

Fast Moving Consumer Goods Marketing Award - sponsored by BrandWorld
Any product which is purchased on a regular basis, usually inexpensive, and the result of a low-involvement decision-making process.

Not-for-Profit Award
Open to organisations whose activities involve fundraising, community services or any other activity where profit is not used as a measure of success.

Retail Award - sponsored by Morton Estate Wines
Retail operations where the majority of business comes from direct purchase by consumers.

Public Sector Marketing Award - NEW FOR 2011
Open to government departments and State-Owned Enterprises whose activities involve community services or any other activity where profit is not necessarily used as a measure of success.

Supreme Award - sponsored by Fairfax Media
This award may be presented by the judges to the best overall entry. The Supreme Award winner will be chosen from all category winners.

JUDGES' CHOICE AWARDS

To be eligible to enter a Judges' Choice Award, you must have entered a Category Award.

Innovation in Marketing Award - sponsored by TVNZ
Best example of innovation in marketing leading to business success (new product set, market offering, market engagement, cross-organisational engagement, etc).

Most Authentic Brand  Award - sponsored by Colmar Brunton
Best example of achieving an organisation’s vision through the effective mobilisation of a brand promise and identity cross-organisationally and out to market.

Sustainability Award - sponsored by carboNZero programme
Best example of marketing driving a commitment to and innovation in sustainability that has resulted in business success.
 
Transformational Marketing Award - sponsored by AUT University
Open to companies that used marketing to identify a business opportunity and drive transformation of the entire business.
